Peggy Sue
Once they ran with The Pictures. Then there were Les Triplettes. Finally came The Pirates, but these days it's simply Peggy Sue. Formed in Brighton but now based in London, at its core this particular Peggy Sue is three people Katy Young, Rosa Slade and Olly Joyce.
After a number of singles and EPs for the likes of Broken Sounds, Theasaurus and Too Pure, the band signed to Wichita Recordings to release their debut album,Fossils and Other Phantoms in 2010. They then toured the UK, Europe and the US multiple times before heading back into the studio with John Parrish (PJ Harvey, Sparklehorse, Giant Sand etc) to make the follow-up album, Acrobats. Released in late 2011, the album finds the band moving away from the acoustic sounds of their debut to something heavier but just as subtle and beautiful.
