Brighton’s Brakes comprise an ex-British Sea Power type and a couple of Electric Soft Parades and together they certainly have a way with fast, literate, short songs. Since 2002 they’ve been making their supremely catchy poppartycountrypunk that makes you dance while you slip slowly off the kilter. (JH)
