Bowerbirds
Bowerbirds played End of the Road festival in 2008.
“The male crestless bowerbird is completely drab. His plumage is indistinguishable from the female’s. His bower has therefore grown more elaborate to take the place of colourful feathers.” Likewise, this John Darnielle-approved, lyrical North Carolina trio boast understated male-female harmonies, accordion and a borderline gypsy feel – unassuming they might be, but you’ll be remembering their songs for a long time yet.
